Nutshells are non-scholarly summaries of the law. They are small paperbacks written on a specific topic (such as torts) in a very approachable way. The easy-to-read nature of these books makes them a good choice if you are researching a new area of law. For example, if you have an admiralty case for the first time, a nutshell could give you the basic concepts and theories on admiralty law, as well as sources of law - for example, whether this area of law is governed largely by statute or regulations.

These are just a few of the Nutshells available on reserve in the library. They check out for 24 hours. There are often older editions in the General Collection that check out for 28 days.
